JCSM-5 Overview

This 5-string edition of the Jacob Collier Signature Model is inspired by a custom 5-string Taylor acoustic guitar that the acclaimed singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and producer has been playing for several years. Designed with Jacob, the JCSM-5 features Taylor’s compact Grand Concert body style and is crafted with solid, Select-grade Hawaiian koa top, back and sides that display rich variegation. The ebony chosen for the fretboard, bridge and headstock overlay features natural marbling, showcasing a blend of espresso and caramel hues. The visual character of the woods gives each guitar its own unique personality, which means each owner will enjoy a truly one-of-a-kind instrument to inspire their musical pursuits.

Like Jacob’s personal Taylor guitar, the JCSM-5 is tuned to DAEAD to offer players the same unique voicing he loves (the lower strings are tuned by fourths while the higher strings are tuned by fifths). For beginners, this makes the guitar more accessible with simpler chord voicings. For more advanced players, it
offers a whole new tonal palette to explore, which promises to spark fresh musical discoveries.
